About me and my family, my life.

It has been a while since I last update this blog. Sorry for that, I am just plain lazy. Having a FB account doesn’t help either.
Anyway, it has been 4 months since I signed up at Fitness First. So far I have lost about 5 kg. Is that good progress? Well, losing weight is a journey, I think I will take the time I needed. I have taken up yoga at FF and loving it. I have not been able to go to FF during this bulan puasa, so I do yoga at home. One of the poses that I practice is called Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar) , very powerful yoga exercise that combines few poses. We’ll see later if I could lose more weight. My target is to be the range of 50s with 20% of fat mass. Currently, I am still way off. Frankly, it is so frustrating not being able to lose more after all the hard work. But I guess I have to bersabar.
In addition to the general health benefits associated with performing Surya Namaskar, each of the yoga poses in the series provides specific health benefits:
Poses 8 through 12 are essentially repetitions of poses 5 through 1, respectively. The health benefits of each are similar to their corresponding poses.
Surya Namaskar is an exercise in itself, but it is also sometimes used as a warm up for other, more strenuous workouts. You can also perform Surya Namaskar at the end of other exercise routines as a way to relax and wind down. One of the best things about Surya Namaskar is how flexible and versatile a form of exercise it is for individuals at all fitness levels.
This is how I shall start:
Weight: 69 kg
BMI : 27%
This is in Mar 2011. That was the reading when I went for a free health test at KPJ Selangor in Shah Alam. The cholesterol level was also sky high, I would update that later.
It got me thinking, how I would be in the next 5 years. I got my gallbladder removed in 1997, my tonsil in 2008 and thyroid in 2009. Nothing major health problem but I had all my accessories removed.
24 April 2011:
I signed for membership at the Fitness First. Initial test:
Weight: 67 kg
BMI: 25%
It looks like I lose 2 kg within 1 month. I don’t know whether it is correct or not but whatever it is I am still heavy for my frame of 155 cm. My BMI is still high.
25 May 2011:
Weight: 65 kg
Waist: 33 cm
I did lose 2 kg. I went for cardio exercise, weight training and yoga at least 3 times a week. From now on, I will keep track of my progress.
Heard from Dr Ozz on Oprah:
5 things that we need to measure on frequent basis:
1) Blood pressure
2) Waist measurement
3) Sugar level
4) Good cholesterol level
5) Bad cholesterol level
So, I will keep record on my weight & waist measurement. Wish me luck.
Oh I forgot to mention this but i am enjoying every bit of the exercise. Seriously, I should have done this long time ago.
Another thing I should record is my food intake but I need to do more study on this, eg the calories on certain food has. The only things is that there is not many information on Malaysian food calories.
She is the most beautiful lady in my life. She is my strength. For 3 years, she dedicated her life taking care of Abah. May Allah gives her pahala yang amat besar kerana menjaga Abah dengan setia sehingga akhir hayat Abah. I love you, Mak. Thank you for everything.
Posting ni dah terlalu lama in the draft so cant ready remember when was the event!
Hot air balloon going up.
Mysarah n Izzaty at the field.
Dramatic tak? It was going up and before you know it, tersangkut di tiang lampu but no casualty.

Actually, it was totally different event. The hot air balloon tu never crash into the lamp post. The one yang tersangkut tu was actually paraglider. It was tersangkut a few days before. It came up in the newspaper. The pilot was ok.
A short 5 sec roll in the big ball and it was over.
Izzaty and her bubbles.
Taken using my new camera. Olympus (compact aje), costing me around RM300. Murah kan? To make it cheaper, it was a gift from Hubby.
Canting batik di Arfa Batik. At that time, ada royal visit from Sultan Perlis. The cucu of Sultan Perlis sat next to Izzaty, doing their batiks too.
The outcome.
Mak and bibik di Masjid Kristal. So sad lah Masjid Kristal ni. So big and yet no prayer was conducted there.

De Tropis Family Guest House, Bandung – cukup selesa.
Suasana yang cukup selesa and berpatutan. Agak jauh dari main shopping area but getting around in Bandung is not a problem. Di depannya ada SPA yang menawarkan harga cukup berpatutan, bolehlah pegi urut after a day shopping. Bayaran boleh dibuat terus ke account from Malaysia, so tak payah bawak cash banyak untuk bayar lodging ni. They only accept cash.
