Busy Week - Mak is here!

Dinner at Warung Desa Sup Gear Box in Bangi

After 5 months Abah pergi, mak is here at my house. She came with Fiqar and Suk. I re-arranged the furniture in her room, changed the curtain and the bedsheet. I dont want to remind her of saat-saat akhir Abah sakit in the very same room.

We went for dinner at Warung Desa Sup Gear Box in Bangi. We had (of course) the Sup Gear Box, Ikan siakap 3 rasa & steam, kailan ikan masin & telur dadar. My comment on the Sup Gear Box? I dont know as I didnt try it. But Suk can testify.....(photo to be upload later)

After 4 days together (playing & sleeping), they were overloaded of each other. Tonite, finally they have enough of each other, Qis refused to spend one more night with Izzaty. Izzaty can hardly open her eyes. Penat sangat2.

Fiqar nak ambik nursing after completed his SPM, that is something probably quite rare for boy to take nursing. But after what he has been through with arwah abah, that is the most logical thing to do. Insyaallah, mudah mudahan termakbullah cita-citanya.

Story Telling at Alimkids on 1st Muharam

Story telling session on Hijrah at Alimkids. Seronok jugak, the story telling was in English. MySarah & Izzaty were a bit lost since they do not understand the story that well. End of the session, they did art & craft.

Lily said the story of spider and dove at the entrance of the cave where Nabi Muhamad SAW and Saidina Abu Bakar were hiding from the Quraisy was a weak sunnah. Whatever it was, Allah protected both of them.

Overdue promise!

I am at Community Ctr in Cyberjaya. Finally, after two months of overdue promise, I am trying to start swimming again. But the swimming pool is closed for cleaning, aaargh...... So there goes my promise.

Update (2.00 pm):
Ok, the pool is finally opened. Change to my swimming gear and of to the pool. I have forgotten how to swim, luckily to pool is only neck level deep else i wouldn know how deep i will b down in the pool!Anyhow, it is a good start.

MySarah's Birthday Party

Sarah was so thrilled to see the Ben 10 cake I made for her. I also made 30 pcs of chocolate moist cuppies with Ben 10 theme, another 25 pcs of banana choc chip cuppies with cream cheese topping, 30 pcs of mini chicken pie and 1 pcs of tapai ubi marble cake.

We were there for a TV program at Astro Awani. Teacher Farah was the famous singer of Bagaikan Puteri (I love that song). Mysarah was not camera shy at all. She sings, dance and play like herself. Siap cakap dengan Teacher Farah, Sarah nak masuk TV. Duduk dengan selambanya on the chair to be interviewed by the reporter. But I am so sure her part will be cut because she speak too soft. Siap baca doa makan lagi.

Aisyah got 2A and 3B for her UPSR. That is an achievement for her actually. She never get more than C for her Math and Science. The A is for BM kefahaman and penulisan. Congrats kakak and try to strieve more, study hard for your PMR nanti. Is not too early to ask, right?

Another order of Custard Cup Cake. Box of 16 (s size is RM32.00). This one is for Syamin, anakanda Kak Long. Ada bunga empat kuntum among the faces. Yang itu buat last minute after clearing my work station when suddenly I found that actually I am short of 4 pcs. My math is so teruk, I wrongly calculated 3x4 as 16!! Anyway, I am also short of piping bag.

Gambar fondant cake for Majlis Tunang Ain. No, I didnt do this, I order from Lianacakes.Memang cantik, semua orang puji. Kena khatamkan pengajian nih. Nanti boleh buat sendiri.

I want to post something during the Hari Raya break via my hp but unfortunately I was not able to log in. Anyway, this Hari Raya was the most difficult and saddest Hari Raya. It was our first raya without Abah. Not all of us came back for the first day of Raya. This year was the in-laws' turn. Ayus & family, the boys and my family were with mak on the first day of raya. We went to the grave to offer prayer to Abah. Sedihnya, terasa kosong masa sambut Hari Raya. I still remember the last raya with Abah. Abah was smiling away with all the grandchildren around him. Sarah was on his lap. He looked so fine and happy.

We made Bi hun Soto and ketupat Palas (first time ever). No lemang and ketupat daun kelapa this year. Mak prepared rendang ayam. Ayus arrived on Saturday night. She cooked kuah kacang for the ketupat (brand nona!). Normally abah will find the daun kelapa to make sarung ketupat. Not this year, no more.....

The second day, we had tahlil for Abah. Abg Labu, Abg Bad and Kak Nor came over to visit Mak. Then Achik and Pak Jang came. Mak cried when she saw Pak Jang came. That was the first time he came and asked about her after Abah's gone. I dont understand it why Pak Jang didnt bother to visit her own sister. Entahlah.

Today is mak's birthday. I am going to call her later to wish her Happy Birthday. Semoga Allah memberi mak kekuatan and kesihatan untuk meneruskan kehidupannya tanpa Abah. Amin.

It has been almost 2 months since abah left us now. Rindu nak jumpa abah semula. Last night during terawih, I saw somebody at the men's saf who look like abah from the back. Menitis air mata when reality sink in. That was not abah and I will never see abah again except dalam syurga nanti.

Mak is at kampung with Danial and Fiqar. Alhamdullilah, both of them are at home. If not, mak would be lonely. I will call mak every other day. Sometimes mak is ok, sometimes she sounds so sad. I know she misses abah. All of us do. Still teringat the last moment with abah. Ramadan ni lagilah teringatkan abah. The food that he loved, the food that he loved to buy for us.

Semoga Allah mencucuri rahmat ke atas roh abah dan tempatkan abah di kalangan orang-orang yang beriman. Amin....

Abah's gone...

Probably, this is one of the last postings I will made here. Have to find the motivation to write again. My abah passed away on 11 July 2009 at 3.59 am in Hospital Putrajaya. He was 65 year-old. Tak tahu apa nak tulih lagi. Semuanya ada dalam memori, vividly. My last time with him at the hospital, bagi dia makan ubat, minum air. Temankan dia solat. Tenangkan dia. At 2.45 am, I saw him unconsious but breathing at the hospital bed. 3.59 am, he was gone.

Abah, you will always be in my heart. Tak puas lagi rasanya nak berbakti pada abah. I love you abah.

I have been very busy lately. After the long medical leave, I am back on my feet. I am almost back to my normal self except my calcium level is still below the specification. So I am still on calcium pills about 1500mg a day. Other than that I am ok.

Got a new camera Nikon Coolpix 8.0 Megpixels. Got a new HP Nokia E71. Oh Well, I am so blessed with these technologies. Later, I will upload a better photos. I have a lot more. Anyway, here's some photo taken with Nikon. Enjoy!

Pathology Report:

Nodular thyroid gland weighing 55.3 g. The right lobe measures 90X35x35 mm, the left lobe measures 65x30x25 mm and isthmus measures 20x15x10mm.

Boy! it was big, really big. I am now weigh less 55.3 g but gain a few kilos while recuperating!!

Doc has reduced my calcium dose to twice a day but I am having symptoms of numbness at my fingers. May I should give him a call tommorrow.

My next doctor's appointment is tommorrow. I doubt I can go back to work by next week. My neck is still swollen and my voice is still hoarse. Mak said because I ate egg. Well, I did actually, sampai dua biji sekali. I made sunny side up eggs and Amir tak nak makan, so I ate them all.

I am taking Gamat Healing and TF now. Baru dua hari. I am supposed to start on that two weeks ago but tak sempat nak pergi beli. Harapkan my beloved husband memang hopeless in that region!! Hopefully, I will be ok for the next one or two weeks.

I think I gain weight as well duduk kat rumah. Beside, I think my metabolism rate went haywired too.

Staying home has its challenge too. More so when we are not well and cant go anywhere. So, I try not to sleep too much but not to munch on something is quite hard actually. I am not a chip person and I would munch on something really heavy like bread or kuih or nugget and then still have full course of lunch, kadang-kadang siap dengan dessert (ice cream or bread pudding or cake). In my fridge, those things memang ada in stock.

So, friends and foes, if you see me later at the office, please excuse my weight. I would use reason that my metabolism rate has gone haywired because of the lack of thyroid hormon!

Another day of recovering. I havent taken anything to speed the healing process. Some poeple would take Air Gamat, Jeli Gamat, TF or ikan haruan ke. I am not at all. Concerned gak but what to do, Amir pun tak tanya apa-apa, and I pun tak mintak apa-apa. But finally, I did ask Amir to look for Jeli Gamat. I was actually to get the TF but I just dont have the time to go to Amcorp Mall to get it. It was so hectic the day I was supposed to be warded. Repair the car's aircon which cost me RM1100 (my money earned through the ESOS!), groceries to feed more than 10 people (all will be here at my home!), not to forget the last minute thing I need to do for the office before the long medical leave.

Today, the swollen has improved a bit though it is still feel sore and tight below the chin.

I guess may be some of you are wondering why I have to remove my thyroid. Here's the chain of event that led to the removal of my poor thyroid:

June 2008 - detected a lump on my right side of the neck. Ultrasound was done. There's a cyst on the right lobe of the thyroid. Through the ultra sound, it was clear that my thyroid was enlarged. No traces of hyperthyroidism. My hormon was normal.

Nov 2008 - Take another ultra sound, no much changes to the thyroid. The cyst on the right lobe dissappeared but the left one seems to enlarge even bigger. Dato Dr Shah of SMC (KPJ SSH) wanted me to decide whether to remove it or not. Nothing medically dangerous but cosmetically was not really pretty. I was diagnosed as Multinodular Goiter.

Dec 2008 - Went for tonsil operation. Dr Satwant took over from Dato Dr Shah. He advised me to remove it before it become malignant. I have the history of cancer in the family. Ina had her thyroid removed much earlier and was suspected as cancer. (Luckily her cancer cell is not active).

Jan 2009 - Went to Cameron Highland and met this guy with very large growth in his neck. It something like the photo below (taken here: http://www.healthline.com/channel/goiter_images?id=gem_03_img0313) but this guy was bigger, covered all his neck area.

Feb 2009 - Went to see Dr Satwant again and set the date for the operation.

18 Mar 2009 - the big day and now I am left without the thyroid. It is a total thyroidectomy which means total thyroid was removed (both lobes and the isthmus). But Dr Satwant able to preserve the gland to produce calcium biologically.

Mine is a bit worse that what you saw in this photo, the incision is about 4 inches wide. Photo shown here is may be about 2-3 inches. Still swollen and stiffed.

Another day of trying to make the best out my condition now. It has been difficult actually, with a neck like this. My bath is lower the neck level so just imagine how unsatisfactorily is the feel. Ok, sabarlah skit lagi. The sticthes is healing very well, I hope it wont leave any scar or keloid like Ina's. Still feel a bit tight around the neck. Other than that, I think I am ok. Oh ya, my voice is yet to recover. Hopefully soon.

What else ye, Siti has gone back to her house in Klang with the baby. Mak ikut sama. So, it is just me and bibik and Sarah at home. sigh.

No activity whatsoever now, so boringlah. I guess this is the time I have to look back and focus on what I want to achieve. Dunia and Akhirat. Allah tooks my organs one by one. I had my gallbladder removed in 1997, then my tonsil in Dec 2008 and now my thyroid. I was constantly reminded by Him that all these are pinjaman and they have to be returned sooner or later. Kalau tak sedar lagi tu, tak tahu nak cakap apa lagi. Anyway, I just pray that I would be a better person with akhlak yang mulia (with less organ inside my body!) and whoever I made them angry or terasa hati, please forgive me.

I SURVIVE! Alhamdullillah, praised to Almighty.

I survive the 2-hour operation to remove my ailing thyroid but it was difficult experience this time. First thing first, I am not in pain like before. I had several organ removal operation before this and I was in pain but not this time. So, going into the OT was really scary. Anyway, thank you to all the wishes.

Amir was really helpful, he took care of me especially the night after the operation. I could hardly open my eyes, couldnt even lift my leg because of the anasthetics. Suapkan makanan but of course after two spoons of nasi, I couldnt eat anymore. Thank you Sayang. But I send him home after two nights with me at the hospital. He slept like a log! Dah tak boleh mintak tolong lagi dah.

So far, i oklah. The doctor is able to preserve my calcium gland so I dont have to take any calcium pills as a supplement. Suara is still serak like Ella(that's what the other manggisians said after they visited me td) but I hope to regain my voice back soon. Leher still bengkak and uncomfortable. So, doakanlah agar cepat sembuh.

It has been a while since I blog. A lot of things happen since then.

Ok, first thing first:

1) I am going for a long medical leave from 16th Mar. Most probably for a month or so. Nothing really life threatening medical reason but I need to deal with it now. So, friends and foes, please forgive me. I have forgiven all of you too. Manalah tau kan. Anyway, my doctor said eventhough there is risks to it but my body is at the optimum level to go for the operation. I hope I do well.

2) Secondly, things are quite tense at the office currently. Somebody is really upset with me right now. But, I guess I am just too busy and too tense about the operation to think about it, I just let it be. Entahlah, too many things in my head right now. Nak siapkan macam-macam before I go for the long medical. So, people, if you come to know about the story from that somebody, it is up to you to believe it and make your own judgement. I dont really care what you think of me. (Arni sure tak percaya apa I tulis nih being a neutral expert!) I just want to do my job. period!

3)Thirdly, MySarah and Izzaty were down with HFMD last week. For four days, MySarah only survive on Soy Milk kotak. She cant drink her milk at all. Izzaty was much better coz she was not that serious. The fact that she is 6-year and senang nak bagi ubat mades her recovery much faster. But, they are ok now.Phew!!!

4) Forthly, I am still struggling with Aisyah. She has no sense of urgency at all. Homework to her is two hours of writing ayat in Bahasa or two questions of Mathematic.

Ok, apa lagi, other than work. Oh ya, I went to Digital Mall in USJ this evening and saw something I like. So, it is either E71 or E66 . What do you think?

Abah's monthly check up turned out ok. Nothing is wrong with him. That's what the doctor said. Most probably, the pain that he felt at the left side is due to operation that he had but nothing serious. The doctor gave him some pills and that's about it. Tak tahulah.

Mak told me yesterday night that there's one night Abah had a nightmare. He was reading a surah from the Quran. Mak did not wake him coz he was reading it correctly. When he woke up, he told mak that the lady who is always in his dream said that somebody is trying to put a spell on Mak and Abah but Abah is the only yang kena. Something was buried at one of the tiang rumah. But in the dream, Abah had removed it.

Not long before that, Mak told me that memang ada kesan of somebody tanam something kat belakang rumah. Fiqar wanted to dig it out and see what was it but Wan tak bagi. So, tak tahulah but I just pray that Allah lindungilah both Abah and Mak. Abah sentiasa sakit at specific time only. Other time, he is ok. I told Mak to get help, spritually.

I'm back!! Many many things happened in 2008.

Abah is still not well. He still having problem to pass motion. No cancer or tumor. That has been checked and re-checked by the hospital. I guess his intestines is just too lazy to work anymore. He is coming over next week for another check up.

Shukri - graduated last year (convo in August 2008) and now posted at Sekolah Teknik Kuala Lipis. I now he will do something in language. When he was just a little boy, probably around 4 or 5, I would watched Sesame Street with him.

Danial - graduated from Politeknik Kuantan last year too (cant remember which month), got a job, stayed on the job for two months and now jobless!! He was retrenched, the factory closed down. LIFO!

Bibik - she went back to Indon since two weeks before hari raya aidilfitri and havent been back since. Sigh....! Fening Weh kepala, well actually penatlah badan. But she coming back end of this month.

Kakak Aisyah - she is in year 6 now. Yes UPSR! Adei, Ummi dia yang tension. She is happy as the butterfly but I could see some improvement on her, especially her math. Semenjak pegi Kumon, her math congak dah improve banyak. She can add, substract, divide and multiply without much effort like before.

Kakak Izzaty - she is 6. Baru tindik telinga but dah dua kali hilang subang. Sigh! Anyway, ada sekali tu, she came back from school telling me, she wanted a pet. This is my conversation with her:

Izzaty: Ummi, kakak nak sgt pet. Tapi doggie tak boleh. Kakak nak baby cat ajelah
Ummi: Kakak nak hamster tak?
Izzaty: Ummi nak tak botol nih? (Dia nampak botol Pepsi kosong). Kakak naklah
Ummi: Tak nak, Nak buat apa tuh?
Izzaty: Kakak jaga botol nih ajelah. (Sambil tu dia isikan air sampai penuh ) Yang ini Kakak tak payah bagi makan. Ummi, nama dia Watermelon
Ummi: (keras perut menahan ketawa) kakak belalah hamster
Izzaty,: tak apalah Ummi, biar kakak besar dulu, nanti beli hamster dgn duit kakak. Tak payah guna duit Babah.

So sampai sekarang botol yang nama Watermelon tu ada lagi. Izzaty bela buat pet dia. Tak payah bagi makan!!!
